Player of the Week

Oct. 4th 2009 Eric Smith School |
vs. Pompton Lakes (4-3 W) |

This week’s “Player of the Week” was an easy decision. Being in all the right places and contributing to a goal and 2 assists, A. Samples may have played his best game this season. Questionable by being out of town, we were unsure if he was coming. But as we looked over our shoulders to have a fellow Cat stumbling up the pathway of Smith field…it was Samples in all of his hung-over glory! Dedication comes to mind, and then to see how he played, was even more of a feat. This wasn’t a trip back from the shore, yet a 3+ hour drive from Boston. Maybe we should encourage this type of behavior because Samples was a huge contribution to the WFC’s stunner over Pompton! |

vs. Parsippany Blues (3-2 W) |

Chris Brinkofski & Clay Smith Lil Brother Brinkofski ran his a** off and Smooth Smith kept the Blues defense busy. Brink rocked his man on the wings and hustled like never before. Smith made the D look stupid as he crept through them on a number of attacks, coming up with one goal and an assist. It's always awesome when 2 Cats share the POW! |

vs. Startime (2-1 W) |

The California kid strikes again! Coming off a two game scoring streak, Adam Samples takes away this week's POW award. Samples had the game winning goal helping WFC come out with their second consecutive victory in only 3 matches. The game winning goal was just a beauty, taking advantage of a great cross from rookie defender Matt Powell, #22 made sure to stretch his entire body to reach out and place the ball in the back of the net!!! |

vs. Parsippany Blues (6-2 W) |

New Season, new division but still the same old Josh Hollens! The man who netted 20 goals during the 08/09 season (leading goal scorer for the US Division) picked up where he left off, finding the net 3 times against the Parsippany Blues for a 6-2 W. All tan and relaxed from his trip to the Bahamas, he took the field determined to leave an impact during the first home game of the World Division resulting in a Hat Trick and 1 assist for #22 Adam Samples. WFC will look for #5's goals this season as they look to leave a mark within the Elite group. |
