NJSL League Game 10 - 11/23/08, Ramsey, NJ. There were some interesting elements to the club’s recent outing as they folded a 2-1 loss at home to the Teaneck Strikers. The last time the two teams met was in game 1, which ended in a 3-3 draw. Knowing that both teams could score against one another, it was going to be a battle once again. 39 degree weather, a hard field that acted like a skating rink, and a 5 point margin to first place, the Cats set out to make the best of it.

The Club threw everything they could at the Strikers defense, but equalizing the chances was clearly the issue. A missed PK, and about 20 corner kicks later, it was one of those nightmarish days for the WFC’s offense as they couldn’t find netting. The field was making for tough play as the forwards and mids had trouble holding their ground and being square for balls coming through the box. Thankfully Quattrocchi made some amazing saves to keep the club within reach, but it would just never materialize for the offense. Just hoping to body up, there’s not much you can do about a 6’5” Banana crashing into net to score the game winning goal.

With the holidays around the corner, the club hopes for one last game to go into the winter with a good note.
