          GAME HIGHLIGHTS vs. ITAFAQ

NJSL Leugue Game 9 - 11/16/08, Parsippany, NJ. With the season winding down, the WFC were up against a team they have not yet faced in the NJSL. Regardless of their opponents standings, the club was going out to Parsippany to plug away for another win. The weather was cold and windy, but it wouldn’t stop the Cats from lighting up the scoreboard.
It only took a few minutes before forward, Adam Samples, would calmly notch one past the keep and bring the club to an early lead. Chance after chance would ensue as the club ripped the netting to score 5 in the first half. If they have ever been calm and collective, the club controlled possession and moved the ball around with style. The midfield found plenty of room up the middle and down the flanks to keep some options for their attacks. Unfortunately, the shutout would fade as an opposing striker would sneak behind the defense on a quick counter and put one past Quattrocchi. First half would end in a 5-1 lead with dominant performances by Kitson, Hollens and Samples.

The WFC wasn’t hesitant on scoring more as they came out in the 2nd half to put 4 more in. We even saw the likes of GK Quattrocchi taking chances out of net and at the opponents. McComisikie contributed to the goal scoring and decided to go in net for the release of Quattrocchi. Even though the cats GK couldn’t finish any of his chances, McComisikie is the second in club history to have a shutout and a goal in the same game. A powerful defensive and offensive display for the club would help run the table to a 9-1 victory. As it would seem a long time coming, sweeper R. Depiero also notched his first goal of the season and of his WFC career.

With two games remaining for the regular season, the club will look to continue their winning streak as they face the Teaneck Strikers for the 2nd time this fall. Game 1 was a 3-3 draw against the Strikers, but both teams will have more chemistry late in the season and it should be a powerful match. Hopefully the cheerleading section will remain strong as the weather gets cooler.
